We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Associate - IPT & EGM

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • EGM - Advice in respect of contentious issues arising from the employment of Nigerians including alleged wrongful activity at the workplace, harassment and discrimination, workplace disputes, unjustified termination, notice periods, the cessation of employment contracts, managing of disengagements, separation benefits, post termination obligations, etc.
  • IP - Advice on non-contentious matters pertaining to intellectual property laws (copyright, trademarks, patents and designs), ownership, protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights and assets, consumer protection, advertising, sponsorships and regulatory matters.
  • Data Privacy - Ability to understand and interpret legal enquiries, questionnaires, scenarios, request for advice etc., applying the provisions of the law to those enquiries, questionnaires, scenarios, etc.; Preparing legal opinions and advice on legal and commercial issues affecting the client’s business.
  • IT - Identifying the applicable laws/guidelines etc. as well as the relevant regulatory agencies within Nigeria;
  • Having and or developing a good understanding of the applicable laws and their provisions.
  • Media, Sport & Entertainment - Ability to understand legal enquiries, questionnaires, scenarios, request for advice etc., applying the provisions of the law to those enquiries, questionnaires, scenarios, etc.;
  • Advising clients on queries and enquiries from regulatory authorities and on potential disputes with 3rd parties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL) minimum; and
  • Master of Laws (LLM) Optional
  • Minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years’ experience
  • Confident, energetic, articulate and hardworking team player with a desire to excel and a passion for the work.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all dealings. Able to deal sympathetically and appropriately with clients and to show empathy with them.
  • Resilient, intellectually flexible individual with solid business acumen, perseverance and strong interest in further developing client and market knowledge.
