We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits a variety of financial reports and analyses; develops analytical techniques therein to ensure sound fiscal operations are maintained.
  • Provides realistic budget guidelines and prepares budget submissions; periodically analyzes and/or revises budget versus actual results.
  • Directs internal audit involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Periodically reviews the accounting function for sufficiency of internal controls.
  • Monitors and establishes investment accounts to maximize interest-generating capability of excess cash and ensures large scale contingency funds are available for planned and/or emergency capital requirements.
  • Provide direction for financial management over all operations, and participates in meetings concerning the financial management of resources.
  • Presents monthly reports on operational transactions.
  • Develops and presents financial plans and management reports to the Supervisor.
  • Provides fiscal counsel to Management to ensure sound conceptual management, business practices and techniques, methods of fiscal organization and procedures, property and equipment control and supply and equipment acquisitions.
  • Monitors compliance with established Purchasing Policy.
  • Monitors reserve and capital project budgets.
  • Manage cash flow and banking services and relationships, make recommendations and monitors investments.
  • In conjunction with the Supervisor initiates, develops, coordinates, analyzes, administers, and monitors annual budget.
  • Provides assistance to independent auditors in their annual audit of the financial statements; prepares supporting schedules for financial statements/control documentation including flow charts and narratives and other information as requested.
  • Directs preparation and submittal in compliance with appropriate laws, requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) of accurate and timely financial, tax & other reports.
  • Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
  • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue
  • Actively participate in meetings and in-house training sessions
  • Perform other administrative duties requiring discretion to relieve the Supervisor of many routine matters.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • B.Sc Plus ACA/ACCA
  • Over 10 years of accounting experience
  • A minimum of 4 years as head of accounts department.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints, regulatory agencies
