Job Title: IT & Cybersecurity Analyst

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Manager, Cyber security & Data Privacy
Department: IT Risk & Cybersecurity

Role Summary

  • The role holder will protect IT infrastructure (including networks, hardware, and software) from range of cyber-criminal activities.
  • He/She will monitor networks and systems, detect security threats (events), analyses and assess alarms, and report on threats, digital intrusion attempts, physical intrusion attempt and false alarms, either resolving them or escalating them, depending on the severity.
  • The applicant should be fervent about technology and willing to take on board new ideas. Applicants should demonstrate unbiased judgment, confidence, and responsibility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepared reports which document the security breaches and extent of damages caused by breaches.
  • Keep Log Record of alarms generated daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.
  • Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
  • Investigate security alerts and provide incident response.
  • Monitor identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorized system users.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations.
  • Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security.
  • Monitor and respond to 'phishing' emails and 'pharming' activity.
  • Give advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails.
  • Create new testing methods to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Perform penetration test on a new system before Deployment.
  • Perform physical security assessments of systems, servers, and other network devices to identify areas that require physical protection.
  • Pinpoint methods and entry points those attackers may use to exploit vulnerabilities or weaknesses.
  • Search for weaknesses in common software, web applications and proprietary systems.
  • Research, evaluate, document, and discuss findings with IT teams and management.
  • Review and provide feedback for information security fixes.
  • Establish improvements for existing security services, including hardware, software, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify areas where improvement is needed in security education and awareness for users.
  • Be sensitive to corporate considerations when performing testing (i.e., minimize downtime and loss of employee productivity).
  • Stay updated on the latest malware and security threats.
  • Review all source code to check for bugs.

Minimum Skills and Requirements

  • B.Sc. / HND in Computer Science and related field.
  • Practical knowledge of Ethical hacking.
  • Experience in computer network penetrate testing Methodologies.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
  • Excellent Knowledge with different operating system like Unix/Linux, Windows, MacOS.
  • Relevant professional certification will be added advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • The capacity to work well within a team.
  • Attention to detail & logical thinking.
