Job Title: Operations Manager (Hardware)
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
This individual will be responsible for identifying and cultivating the business relationship with customers that have a need for standard office operations equipment. The Operations Manager is accountable for meeting Sales Revenue and Margin objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes, develops and manages new leads by participating in major trade industry conferences, shows and exhibits while promoting the company’s capabilities.
- Identifies and develops new business with existing customers.
- Works with engineering and manufacturing to determine the feasibility of designing and manufacturing new and/or custom products.
- Meet with customers to discuss, refine, quote and sell proposed products.
- Negotiate contract pricing and terms with customers.
- Negotiate, communicate, document and obtain approval from internal and external stakeholders on long term supplier agreements
- Meet/exceed Sales Revenue and Margin objectives.
- Management workforce and ensure compliance to organization culture
Qualifications
- Candidate Profile Skills
- Ability to build relationships with customers at various functional levels
- Ability to prospect and close new business
- Professional selling skills – product knowledge, presentation, follow-up, and ability to close.
Exceptional negotiation skills
1. Piece part price, tool cost, others supply parameters.
Mechanical / technical basics
1. Read & understand blueprints
2. Conceptualize customer design needs
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Ability to self-direct and self-manage daily tasks and activities
Experience & Education
- Five years of in-market selling experience office equipment in a business to business environment.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with custom designed solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Engineering or related field
General
- Travel required. Ability to travel 50%-60% of the time.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
- Ability to define a problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions to meet customer requirements. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical details, processes and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Requires the ability to create PowerPoints, use Excel Spreadsheets and word processing along with a working knowledge of in-house databases.
