Job Title: Quality Control Inspector (Furniture / Fabrication)

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are seeking to employ a Quality Control Inspector to perform basic to complex set-ups, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of our products.
  • In the quality inspector role, you will be responsible for inspection and quality services to ensure company products and processes meet customer, company, and other specifications’ requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Coach and mentor junior employees; seek opportunities to grow leadership in others
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, attending seminars, watching industry videos, etc.
  • Accomplish organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
  • Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods

Competency / Skill / Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant working experience as a Quality Control Inspector
  • 2+ years in a leadership or managerial position
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good knowledge of industry products and processes
  • Good basic math skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
