CSS Tech Hub is building a world-class technology hub and research centre. We build intelligent machines, train, and certify youth on ultra-modern courses in automation, robotics, 3D printing, CNC machining, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and machine learning.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Backend Developer

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Work with developers to design algorithms and flowcharts
• Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
• Integrate software components and third-party programs
• Verify and deploy programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
• Gather and evaluate user feedback
• Recommend and execute improvements

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an FSLC / OND / NCE / HND / Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Backend Experience with SDK / Node.js / Express.
• Strong programming skills in Javascript/TypeScript, Python or Go are a plus
• Hands-on experience in API development and frameworks such as Express, Loopback, Hapi
• Must have worked extensively with Relational Database Systems (MySQL, Postgres, etc) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc)
• Excellent knowledge of matters involving REST API and WebSockets, writing unit testing using the Jest framework, and managing discussions and queries with our products.
• Must have significant experience working with Git for version control and a good grasp of various git-flows.
• Extensive knowledge of data abstraction is a must.
• Understanding of basic cloud computing concepts and experience in using any of the major cloud service providers(AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Must have designed, built, scaled, and maintained large-scale production services and know-how to compose a service-oriented architecture.
• Vast experience working on high-performance, aggressive-load web services.
• Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems
• You have experience driving technical projects, prioritizing work, identifying dependencies, facilitating technical decisions, and cross-functional team discussions.
• You're comfortable collaborating closely with product managers, product owners, and stakeholders, providing estimates or product ideas that will influence your team's roadmap.
