Job Description:

Action Against Hunger | ACF-International works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.
An outbreak of cholera had been reported in Borno state, Maiduguri. ACF is recruiting a cholera response team to work on both water and sanitation infrastructure, and the community sensitization on both water quality and interpersonal contamination to prevent cholera, and on early rehydration and referral of patients.

WASH Emergency Response Program Manager, Maiduguri:

The WASH Emergency Response Program Manager, under the direction of the Field Coordinator, will be responsible for running and supervising WASH programs at all stages of the project management cycle in relation to cholera control and response. He/she will also be responsible for accomplishing the program objectives and outcomes within the contextual constraints, and ensuring the WASH team completes the defined activities while adhering to internal standards and contractual obligations.

Summary of Key Objectives:
  • Support projects implementation, monitoring and reporting
  • To represent ACF at local level WASH related coordination meeting with stakeholders within the intervention area
  • Contribute to evaluation (internal and external) of project’s effect/impact
  • Contribute pro-actively to HR management (including staff career plan development)
  • Contribute to the mission’s capitalization and to ACF communication
  • Contribute to the definition and the implementation of ACF policies, positioning and strategies in the mission
  • Contribute to the identification, definition, formulation of WASH projects

Qualifications & Essential Skills
  • University degree or equivalent experience in Public Health; Environmental Health: Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH); or other relevant course.
  • Applied skills on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects management
  • Interpersonal skills (team management, communication, reporting, autonomy, pedagogy, planning and organizational skills)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly deliver results
  • Proficient in English
Preferred
  • Experience in the International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) and Humanitarian context
  • Experience in Personnel Management and administration
  • Experience working on cholera programmes.
