Job Title: Tax Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Prepares tax returns for Maersk Group business entities in Nigeria
- Files tax returns after obtaining sign-off from BU CFOs
- Calculate tax for financial reports including deferred taxes
- Ensures timely submission of tax returns
- Together with the Head of Tax proposes country tax return strategy for all the Business units in Nigeria
- Statutory audit support on tax matters
- Tax review for provisioning purposes
- Review of WHT and VAT returns before submission at the FIRS
Requirement
Who we are looking for
- Analytical and logical thinker
- A good ‘feel’ for numbers
- Good communication and people skills
- Experience in preparing corporate income tax returns
- High sense of urgency
- Self-starter, pro-active
- Excellent writing skills
- Sound knowledge of the tax laws
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance related discipline with ICAN qualification
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in a Tax role.
- Preferably from an in-house tax department, an accounting firm or the tax authorities
- Knowledge of the shipping industry is an advantage
