Job Description
- The Head, Application Development is responsible for developing software applications and automating processes that will enable the company’s function more effectively and efficiently internally and serve market participants optimally.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develops requirements specifications, technical documentation, and user manuals for new and existing software systems
- Develops web and desktop applications using current technologies such as Java, C#.NET, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL
- Carries out testing of existing software systems and new systems in both controlled and real scenarios before go-live
- Ensures mapping of current business processes to test cases and track, fixing of defects identified during UAT exercises within speculated time.
- Performs technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given software problems
- Recommends improvement to existing software programs
- Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organization’s systems
- Developing reports for teams across the business
- Analyses, plans, identifies improvement, and designs software development project for the organization.
- Monitors and communicates relevant information relating to, project or programme execution activities
- Identifies and obtains agreement for changes to project or programme baseline plans, as directed
- Prepares technical papers, departmental documents (achievements) and on-boarding presentation slides.
- Carries out support for internal and external users of new and existing software systems
- Provides technical and project management assistance for the acquisition of 3rd party applications and software related projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering / Development or any other related field.
- Minimum of 4 years developing core web applications in C#, .NET, Java, Node, PHP, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL.
