Job Title: Internal Control and Compliance Officer

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • The Internal Control and Compliance Officer is responsible for providing an independent evaluation of the activities of the Company and its related entities, centrally coordinating all internal control and compliance activities within the company.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement an effective compliance program. • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
  • Help to foster a positive culture of compliance by working proactively to ensure that best practices and systems are in place to facilitate business growth and the overall success of business in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policy.
  • Responsible for drafting policy, process and procedure to improve on the compliance posture of the organization
  • Ensure that statutory training requirements are met
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering compliance-related training and communications to employees
  • Carry out employee relations investigations as requested by the business
  • Collaborate with other functional areas like HR unit and other stakeholders in the delivery of compliance programs and training to employees
  • Create a program for the applicant and employee testing.
  • Input all interactions in the case management system and/or leave management system
  • Responsible for the maintenance of company-mandated reports on all incidents.
  • Discreetly handle sensitive employee reports or information.
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  • Develop training and development programs.
  • Assist in performance management processes.
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements.

Job Requirements

  • HND / BSc qualification in Business Administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Compliance or Internal Control Officer or similar role experience in healthcare or banking industry.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Integrity and professional ethics.
  • Attention to detail.
