Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Industry: Shipping / Marine

Job Description

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization.
  • You are comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting.

The Role

  • Manage and prepare company accounts in Nigeria
  • Support the preparation of company accounts in the UK
  • Supervise book-keeping in compliance with accounting regulation
  • Prepare materials for audit
  • Prepare monthly reports and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepare forecasts and 3-year plans and ensure they are effectively controlled and reported
  • Manage insurance requirements and compliance
  • Investigate and resolve tax issues related to PAYE
  • Develop accounting policies as the company scales
  • Identify, appoint and liaise with external agencies / contractors to manage the Finance dept as the company scales.

Requirements

  • A strong background in finance and finance processes
    Passion for systems and controls
  • Experience of operating within a highly effective team and as a line manager
  • Excellent Excel and IT skills
  • Credibility and confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to details
  • Solution-oriented
  • Pragmatic, robust and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
  • Able to act on own initiative with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Organised and efficient with a ‘right first time’ approach to quality of work.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting timescales and demands
  • Familiarity with zoho accounting software.
