Ambassadors of Dialogue, Climate and Reintegration (DCR Ambassadors) is a voluntary, non-government, not-for-profit, and non-sectarian organization (gender focus), that is working in the area of peace-building, climate change, and reintegration. Established in 2016 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in August 2018, our mission is to educate and empower citizens, especially women, youths and, children to be able to shape their society and become more responsive to social, economic, political and environmental transformations. DCR Ambassadors envision a world where human life has esteemed value and worth, citizens have equal opportunities, and people are free from oppression, violence, and disasters. We can drive social change through advocacy, community mobilizing for action, capacity building, livelihood support, education, and strengthening democratic governance structures through dialogues.

Project Overview

  • DCR Ambassadors is a five-year old non-governmental organization working in northeast Nigeria. The organization is working on ensuring peoples’ rights especially women and children are respected in private and in public; physical environments are safe, clean and sustainable.
  • DCR Ambassadors envisions a world where human life has esteemed value and worth, citizens have equal opportunities, and people are free from oppression, violence and disasters.
  • DCR Ambassadors focuses on strengthening institutional and multi-sectoral capacity to prevent and respond to Sexual & Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) across the BAY states.

Main Purpose of Job

  • DCR Ambassadors is recruiting to fill the position of M&E on the WPHF/EU Supported Spotlight Initiative to End Violence Against Women and girls in Borno State titled: “Strengthening Institutional and Multi-Sectoral Capacity to Prevent and Respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)”.
  • The M&EOfficer will be supervised by the Program Manager. S/he will provide technical leadership to monitor and evaluate program outputs, outcomes and impact.. M&E activities helps us understand why, and the extent to which, intended and unintended results are achieved and their impact on stakeholders. It is therefore an important agent of change through the provision of useful feedback and a commitment to act on that feedback, thereby driving organizational learning.
  • Furthermore, as a learning tool, M&E adds to DCR Ambassadors’ body of knowledge with respect to best practicesin monitoring, evaluation and conservation. Results Based Management According to the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), RBM is a ‘management strategy focusing on performance and achievement of outputs, outcomes and impacts’, collectively known as ‘results’.
  • RBM uses structured, logical approach that identifies expected results and the inputs and activities necessary to achieve these. This management strategy ensures that all business units work towards and report on a common set of goals.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinating M&E activities
  • M&E standard setting and implementation
  • Implementation of organizational M&E policy
  • Working with senior management and to prepare M&E workplans and reporting guidelines
  • Liaising with DCR Ambassadors’ donors
  • Ensuring M&E tools are in line with international best practice.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • A First Degree in any field of study and at least a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, HND or B.Sc
  • NGO experience is an added advantage
  • Computer proficiency especially in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer based statistical tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in English
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Excellent organizational, inter-personal, multi-cultural and team building skills
  • Ability to manage teams, initiate and organize work, establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.

Salary
N50,000 - N100,000 monthly
