Job Description
  • The Project Controls / Planning Engineer assists the Project Manager in the overall control of the Project and is specifically in charge of supervising at least Cost Engineering, Planning and Scheduling, Progress Monitoring, Risk management, Reporting (internal and to client/partners).
Reporting lines and interactions:
  • Hierarchically reports to: Project Engineers and Project Managers Department Head.
  • Operationally reports to: Project Manager.
  • Operationally supervises (operationally): Cost, Scheduling, Risk, Contract, engineers/managers.
  • Interaction internally with: Process, Engineering, Finance, Information technology, Insurance & Legal, Quality HSE Security, Procurement, ECP, Project management, Construction, Operations, Other support services.
  • Interaction externally with: Client and Partners and Main Subcontractors.
Main Accountabilities:
  • Prepare Planning /Scheduling Procedures, Physical Progress Measurement procedures, Reporting procedures, Project Calendar, Cost Control Procedures, Change Control Procedures, Invoicing Procedures WBS and CBS, etc. The candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the Reference Schedules (Levels,1 and 2) and the specific detailed schedules (Level 3) and others as required at various phase of Project and also assist all other disciplines in the preparation of detailed schedules and thus to check that main interfaces between activities are correctly taken into account,
  • Set up the Cost Control system on the basis of the Cost estimate sheet prepared at Proposal stage and further to budget allocation approved by the Project. Continuous follow - up monitoring and reporting of the progress / cost status of all aspects of the Project (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning, Contractual, Financial, etc…) and provide actual & forecast of expenses and revenues (cash-flow) and possible deviations.
  • Ensure the project schedule is on track to meet deadlines or deliverables. Log all information and status concerning budgets, commitments, forecasts, Invoices, Change Orders etc on the Project. He will collect and compile back-up data for project statistics and ratio calculation and also prepare the Project Close out Report with the assistance of the Project Manager / Project Control Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum requirement 5 years experience as Planning Engineer or as Project Engineer.
  • Must have good engineering design experience
  • Fluent in English
Nice to have:
  • Good communication and coordinating skills.
