Job Title: Chief Electrician

Job Description
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment onboard the rig.
- Ensure daily inspections and maintenance on electrical equipment is carried out.
- Carry out periodic maintenance according to the J.D.E guidelines and coordinate same with supervisor and other department heads.
- Carry out maintenance and repair on electrical components of drilling equipment, i.e. Driller’s console, DC drilling motors and auxiliaries, Top Drive System, draw-works, mud pumps, etc.
- Ensure that all subordinates have the necessary skills and experience to fulfill their assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Supervise and guide crew members in their On the Job Training (OJT) program.
- Incorporate the risk assessment planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team
- Ensure that reports for repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and complete
- Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information via direct supervisor to Technical Field Support
- Gather data from instruments interpret past and present performance to understand trends and ensure problems are solved.
- Maintain an adequate supply of spares in order to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation- generate requisitions as required.
Qualification
- Electrical/ Electronics Engineering Degree
- Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates
Experience: 5- 10 yrs
