Job Title: Floor Supervisor / Technical Assistant
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Provide an on time, safe, reliable, and cost effective technical service operation for all operated vessels.
- Create an environment of continuous improvement.
- Identify, manage and monitor risks.
- Advise on the technical operations of all vessels owned or operated by Marine Services.
- Liaise closely with the vessels’ masters and chief engineers to ensure the vessels hulls, machinery and equipment are operated efficiently and maintained in good condition.
- Ensure that all personnel under the control his are suitably qualified.
- Assist in planning dry-docking and other significant material or services contracts.
- Ensure the compliance of the vessels to the ISM Code within his area of responsibility and planned maintenance of the vessels is correctly applied.
- To provide specialist advice and recommendations on all important technical issues affecting the vessels.
- To identify opportunities to improve technical issues to increase customer service and company value.
- To supervise and manage the Technical division within the planned maintenance system on all vessels and in the office.
- To work in close relation with the procurement department and approve purchase
Character:
- Knowledge of the technical lay out of the client fleet.
- Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary.
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of principle discipline and peripheral subjects.
- Strong co-ordination, organisation and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues.
Requirement
HND / Degree qualification required.
