The International School, Lagos (ISL) was founded on November 9, 1981, and saddled with the responsibility of providing first class secondary school education of international standards that is second to none in Nigeria. In 1985, the school was inspected and granted recognition and approval to present students for SSCE and GCE O' level by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the Federal Ministry of Education.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: Principal

Location: Lagos

Role of the Principal

  • The principal shall report to the Board of the International School, Lagos through the Chairman of the Board.
  • He or she shall be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the school.
  • He or she shall supervise the Vice-Principals and teachers in the school.
  • He or she shall provide strategic direction for both academic and Co-curricular activities of the school.

Requirements
The Applicants must possess a minimum of a First Degree as follows:

  • B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.) or B.A. (Ed.) from a recognised institution with a minimum of a Second Class Lower Division
  • BA. Or B.Sc. from a recognised institution with a minimum of a Second Class Lower Division with a PGDE
  • B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed.) or B.A. (Ed.) from a recognised institution with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division with a M.Ed.

Also, the Applicant:

  • Must not be older than 60 years of age at the time of the appointment.
  • Must have a NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption
  • Must have SSCE / NECO / WASC / GCE O/L Credits in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics which is compulsory.
  • Must have a minimum of 25 years teaching experience.
  • Must have a Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria License
  • Must have been a Chief Tutor for at least 2 years.
  • Must have been a Vice-Principal for at least 2 years.
  • Must have evidence of administrative experience as a Head of Department with proven leadership ability.
  • Must have evidence of professional managerial training, leadership and administrative experience in handling a school
  • Must be a person of proven integrity and have a clean record of service.
  • A higher degree would be an added advantage.

Remuneration

  • The position of the principal attracts competitive salary and compensation package as determined by the Board from time to time.
