Collections Team Lead at Umba

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Collections Team Lead

Location: Maryland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Description

• Responsible for the overall collections and recoveries activities
• Improve and optimize collections and recoveries strategies
• Performance management of collections agent’s productivity and effectiveness
• Daily supervision of the collections contact and outbound dialling strategies
• Achieve assigned collections targets to contribute to organization’s financial performance
• Responsible for the recruitment and ongoing development of collections agents
• Regular reporting on agent, strategy and portfolio performance
• Responsible for resolving escalations and working with other departments to solve problems
• Provide feedback on collection activities and trends for credit policy changes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years in a similar position
• Must have hands-on experience in Credit Collection and Recoveries in a financial institution
• Working knowledge of call center diallers and collections systems
• Understanding of relevant CBN policies and guidelines
• Experience in developing high performing teams
• Ideally has experience of/with a digital lender/bank
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Highly organized and clear leadership skills
• Passionate about solving problems and delivering results
• A good understanding of risk, credit policies and procedures
• Strong analytical skills.
