We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting: Board of Directors / MD
Sector: Modern Trade - FMCG

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team
  • Advising on long term business and financial planning
  • Identify and address financial risk of the company
  • Overseeing and managing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with the company’s Finance policy, IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal control/audit requirements
  • Generating accurate information and analysis from the financial and operational day-to-day transactions in line with agreed timelines.
  • Ensuring regular reconciliation of supplier, intra-company and inter-company accounts.
  • Developing and managing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that guarantees a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Optimize the management of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance the company’s cash position
  • Assuming full responsibility for the Supplier payment process
  • Overseeing the company’s budgeting process & ensuring full implementation and monitoring of the agreed budget
  • Implement accounting standards, process and disciplines to ensure reliable/accurate and timely delivery of required management information.
  • Drive the company's financial planning, management, and reporting
  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • Provide management with timely, complete and accurate financial information for business decision-making
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
  • Co-ordinate and manage the budgets and forecasting process
  • Conduct business performance analysis and interpretation
  • Oversee the financial year end process
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the external audit relationship
  • Optimize the business tax liabilities and ensure timely submission of tax returns.
  • Implement appropriate financial controls
  • Identify key risks and implement internal risk management framework.
  • Manage the internal audit and risk management relationships.
  • An adviser to the MD and Board of Directors on how to allocate resources to ensure stability and growth
  • Invest corporate funds.
  • Develop KPIs for junior colleagues and assess their performance.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Board.

Requirement

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification.

Compensation
N25 million annually (Negotiable).
