We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Maintenance

Location: Asokoro District, Abuja

Role Purpose

  • To direct, coordinate and perform routine, preventive and emergency interior/exterior maintenance and repairs to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of hotel operations.

Duties
The core duties include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues and act on complaints on a timely basis.
  • Identify ways to conserve energy and reduce facility operating costs.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Prepare the department’s budget and ensure it is being followed.
  • Maximise the maintenance team’s potential with a balanced focus on operations, guests, employees, and the Board’s satisfaction.
  • Ensure property grounds, physical plant and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment conditions are to up to code.
  • Develop routine and preventative maintenance strategies to ensure that the entire facility is kept operational.
  • Familiarity with the inner workings of a hotel (e.g. plumbing, electrical, ac/refrigeration, waste management).

Person Requirements

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience in a leadership capacity
  • Experience in administrative processes (e.g. budgeting, coaching/mentoring, recruitment, performance management).
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is required.
  • Ability to identify role-specific risks and quickly develop a plan of action.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, particularly under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical and organisational skills.
  • Result and detail-oriented with an eye for perfection and a thirst for excellent service delivery.
  • Ability to work long hours on your feet.
