Job Title: Senior Insurance Underwriter

Job Description
- Reports directly to Head, Technical Operations, the successful candidate will provide excellent support service in the underwriting unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Underwriting of various classes of risks and pricing accounts in accordance with NAICOM's underwriting standards.
- Review of underwriting files, monitor loss ratios, renewals, retention ratios, spread of risk and other quality measures.
- Provide formal and informal underwriting training as may be required.
- Gather and prepare reports based on appropriate market information and trends.
Requirements
The successful candidate must possess the following:
- Not less than 10 years progressive underwriting experience within the insurance industry.
- B.Sc. / HND from a reputable higher institution (minimum of 2:2 or Upper Credit).
- Ability to underwrite large, more complex accounts, including knowledge of commercial property forms, pricing and rating methodology, modelling and valuation tools.
- Oral and written communication skills, including formal and informal presentation skills.
- Intermediate skills in underwriting and policy processing software applications.
- Professional membership of CII or CIIN.
- Maximum age is 35
