Job Title: Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objectives and Primary Responsibilities

  • To achieve corporate digitisation and technology-driven efficiency objectives, the Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO) will be responsible for overseeing the development, adoption, dissemination, and maintenance of applicable technology and system support for business operations.
  • In line with corporate strategy, the CDTO will duly articulate and ensure the execution of the company’s digital & technology strategy plans and policies.
  • The CDTO will also provide leadership for the IT Strategy and Governance, Digital & Automation, Application Support, Network and Infrastructure functions as well as IT Support/Help Desk service to internal and external customers, vendors, and related stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Determine and implement a company-wide information system plan that promotes and ensures the quality, confidentiality, integrity, availability, and security of corporate data and information
  • Establish governance frameworks for IT Project Management, IT Service Management,
  • Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, IT Quality Assurance and Service Performance Management, Network infrastructure, backup and security
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for the execution and acquisition of different digital & technology projects and tools required by the business
  • Oversee the management of business/operational risks through digitization and evaluate relevant technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
  • Lead the implementation of core enterprise digital process automation (DPA) capabilities like BPM, RPA, OCR capabilities, etc.
  • Coordinate the selection and procurement of IT hardware and software, identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems while ensuring the maintenance of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with service providers
  • Ensure that enterprise applications and services, desktop support, and device strategies and implementation meet the needs of users across the organization with the continuous connectivity of the company’s network of regional offices, branches, and retail outlets
  • Oversee the maintenance and development of best practice guidelines for data acquisition– both in terms of opt-in/out and how this data is stored and used for sales, marketing, improving business processes and operations, reporting, etc.
  • Generate performance reports of all digital and technology operating systems and ensure optimization of existing IT infrastructure and business applications to extract maximum value
  • Ensure all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations and keep abreast of the best local and global IT trends with improvement recommendations to the CEO
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (second class lower) or it's equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from a reputable university.
  • A professional or post-graduate Information Technology qualification offers an added advantage.

Work Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years post-graduation work experience in a similar role or related network infrastructure and ERP application development, implementation, and support role.
  • Proven track record of leading successful digital transformation projects
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the role of technology in the achievement of corporate objectives with a solid understanding of local and global trends in the Technology industry.
  • Working knowledge of systems development standards, policies, and procedures
  • Strong digital & technology project planning/management and implementation skills
  • Strong operational management and resource planning/coordination skills
  • Experience with computer networks, network/database administration, and network installation
  • Proficient in IT hardware/software packages, wireless technology applications, IT Security, relevant operating systems, and interface
  • In-depth understanding of server networks, protocols, and internet/intranet applications
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Strong management, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and capable of working effectively under pressure
  • Highly detail-oriented, analytical, resourceful, and adaptable
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and change.
