Job Title: HSSE Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• Our client is looking for an HSSE Manager who will be responsible to set and ensure implementation of Group HSSE Strategy that is both aligned with overall company and Project objectives,
• Deliver a Threat and Risk based approach to HSSE management, Continually optimize use of resources to minimize cost while ensuring safety and security are not compromised,
• Create and drive initiatives to continually reinforce and align the workforce on HSSE.

Responsibilities

• Build capacity and capability within Security to ensure strength in a Threat led organization across IDENTIFY, PROTECT, DETECT, RESPOND model
• Own and manage the HSSE Risk Register and work with other departments to ensure HSSE risk is mitigated
• Own HSSE Crisis management function and ensure regular simulations are carried out to demonstrate resilience
• Regularly review and update Base, Site and Project HSSE plans. Ensure proper threat and risk monitoring is in place
• Build relationships with senior Government Security Forces (GSF) from the respective agencies within their Area of Responsibility (AOR);
• Work with key contractor/3rd party companies to ensure they comply to the company high standards
• Liaise with Project Managers at regular intervals to ensure HSSE goals match that of the project;
• Drive initiatives to align HSSE practices with operating processes
• Remain up to date with HSSE technology to drive detection and compliance to HSSE policies and rules. Propose solutions where appropriate
• Own the HSSE budget and continually look for ways of cutting cost without compromising Safety or Security standards
• High focus on HSSE within road transport including reduction in RTA, equipment / fuel movement, vehicle misuse and contractor compliance.
• Work with Group ICT to support ICT system security.
• Perform any other role as may be directed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, or other related fields
• Additional qualifications in Security / HSE is a distinct advantage
• 10+ experience in security management, with at least 2 years in HSE or related function.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written & communication skills are required.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Knowledge of the oil & gas and EPCIC industry is desirable.
