Job Title: Investment Operations Staff

Location: Lagos

Overview

  • Responsibilities as an Investment Operations staff involve managing proper trade settlement with our custodians, distributing daily portfolio attribution and return analysis to our investment team while cross-checking this data against external NAV calculations.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities – Portfolio Trading & Settlement:

  • Daily analysis of portfolio exposure, performance, internal NAV and attribution using our proprietary Bloomberg enabled excel sheet and information provided by our custodians
  • Timely and accurately handle trade management and reconciliations (trade input, processing, settlements and act as the liaison between brokers and the firm)
  • Daily cash reconciliation, position report preparation and asset pricing
  • Corporate Actions processing
  • Preparation of marketing and prospecting materials for external distribution • Carrying out trade allocation and performing portfolio rebalancing
  • Communicating and maintaining our relationships with traders, custodians and prime brokerage settlement teams
  • Ensuring trades, allocations, reporting and settlements are all in accordance with our compliance requirements

Secondary Responsibilities – Fund Accounting (assisting the Director of Client Services):

  • Financial statements – preparation, review and finalization of annual and semi-annual financial statements for Wealhouse hedge funds together with responsibility for communicating and maintaining our relationships with Auditors
  • Canadian tax computations o Income Tax – preparation of annual taxable income calculations for Wealhouse Funds, including liaising with Auditor’s tax teams, completion and issue of tax returns for the CRA and tax slips for Investors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics with 2 - 5 years of work experience.

Skills Required:

  • Heavy attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills both verbal and written
  • Dependable and ability to self-motivate and work independently and as part of a small operational team with shared responsibilities
  • Knowledge regarding Equities, Bonds, Derivatives (Options, Forward, Futures) and the intricacies of pricing, corporate actions, and settlement specific to each
  • Proven PC skills, in particular in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Bloomberg.
  • Experience using Omgeo and custodial software, together with FundSERV beneficial but not required as full training will be provided
  • Good understanding of fund accounting

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 Monthly.
