We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quarry Control Service / Junior Geologist

Location: Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Objective

  • Assurance of regular and consistent delivery of quarry materials (mainly BALL CLAY and FELDSPAR ).
  • Ball clay ( and other raw materials ) are very important for production but are of natural origin (means not uniform characteristics) and “ceramic properties” can drastically change inside the same quarry.
  • Normally for obtain stable “ceramic properties” are “blended” all parts of extraction front.
  • For this reason, are need pay a lot of attention and controls.
  • The role will report to Laboratory and/or Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Quarry and/or truckloads sampling
  • This is the most important step; samples must be taken from various points and different depths along the extraction front (or several positions in a truck)
  • Check with Chloridric acid the presence of Carbonates minerals
  • Check, with help of a magnet, the presence of magnetic materials (mainly Iron compounds)
  • Pay attention and avoid any change in the colour of clay in the extraction front
  • Pay attention to lime lumps ( CaCO3) and shining spots ( Pirite)
  • Control and demand cleanliness of truck trailer to avoid any contamination.

Qualification and Experience

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with at least 2 years of work experience.
  • Few years' experiences in the quarry and raw materials sector is appreciated.
