Al Jawda Foundation is the proprietor of Al Jawda English Schools in Khartoum, Sudan. Al Jawda schools deliver high quality, lifelong learning outcomes for all pupils. We are currently providing reliable educational service for children between KG1 to Grade 10. As a school, we follow the highly respected Cambridge international curriculum leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

We are currently seeking the services of experienced candidates who are already in the service of Government or private schools to fill the position below:

Job Title: Academic Coordinator

Location: Khartoum, Sudan

Description

  • We are currently seeking the services of experienced Nigerian Educationists in Sudan who are already in the service of Government or private schools that may negotiate leave of absence for two or three years with their employers appointed to teach in our schools.
  • The school is seeking an experienced full-time Academic Director for our English section. To join this foundation, you will need to be able to lead a team of professional teachers who are working to provide high quality of teaching Through the understanding of contemporary pedagogy, innovative methods of teaching and hard work, you are expected to raise the schools level of achievement.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To be accountable for and to provide professional leadership in academic issues for KS1.
  • To secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and improve standards of learning and achievement for all KS1 pupils.
  • To engage all KS1 staff in the creation, consistent implementation and improvement of the schemes of work.
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression are in line with the plan set before.
  • To ensure that examinations or other methods of assessments are devised and applied at appropriate times.
  • To ensure that all tests, examinations and assessments are based on the department's specification and marked according to a scheme common to the whole cohort.
  • Ensure effective development of pupil's literacy, numeracy, and information technology skills as well as excellent performance in social studies.
  • To initiate and organize or support curricular, extra-curricular and educational enhancement activities.
  • To use a variety of methods to monitor and evaluate the teaching and learning offered by the staff, and take appropriate action to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
  • To provide regular feedback to the academic manager / principal to help the school evaluate its practice.
  • To monitor, evaluate and support interventions to tackle any under performance by any pupil.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education
  • A valid Teaching Certificate
  • At least 10 years of teaching and administrative experience
  • Maximum age of 45
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • High levels of integrity, commitment and personal conduct will be expected of the candidate for this position.
  • Any other experiences, studies or professional training relevant to the duties assigned above.
