6334 Business Services - Our client, a Specialist Medical Centre in Lekki Phase I, Lagos State, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Officer (Experienced)

Location: Lagos
Reports to: Head of Clinical Services

Introduction

  • Our client wants to transform it into a centre of excellence for child, maternal care and other specialist services.
  • To this end, the new management is seeking to engage the services of forward-thinking medical professionals who will be committed to interpreting and implementing the vision of the promoters.
  • The newly hired clinical team will have the opportunity to work in a conducive and well- equipped hospital, that will provide quality primary and secondary healthcare services to patients from all over Lagos State.

Main Purpose of the Job

  • He/She is responsible for performing all assigned clinical and non-clinical activities in the organization. He/She will work collaboratively with the Head of Clinical Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to patients’ medical problems by referring to their history, carrying out diagnosis, treatment, counselling, and referral, where necessary according to Pearl Hospital protocol.
  • Ordering lab tests and interpreting the test results.
  • Always maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
  •  Collecting, recording, and maintaining sensitive patient information such as examination results,
  • medical history, and reports.
  • Explaining procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.
  • Liaising with medical professionals in the hospital.
  • Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
  •  Meeting targets set by the government for specified treatments, e.g., child immunization.
  • Keeping updated with medical developments, treatment, and medication.
  • Manage the team under your responsibility, supervising performance, organizing, and scheduling shifts and rotations.
  • Directly participating in emergencies and on-calls if necessary.
  • Keep the patient and/or family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to be followed.

Education / Certifications

  • Degree in Medicine and applicable experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Current medical license.

Experience:

  •  Varied experience as a medical doctor in one or more areas especially Obstetrics & Gynaecology for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Available to work for a minimum of 1 year.
