Job Title: Program and Project Manager

Job Description
- A program and project Manager is a professional who coordinates projects across an organization.
- They ensure everything runs smoothly and follows program goals while maintaining a high level of detail for each project they oversee throughout their workday.
- The individual will provide strategic guidance to teams and site project managers in ways that promote the company’s culture. They will also oversee the progress of operations.
- The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Set and agree on project objectives with the design and construction teams; prepare, check, and approve deliverables.
- Serve as a key link with the client and Project Manager to review deliverables before commencing any project.
- Prepare project schedules and monitor the project construction schedule on a weekly basis. Work with the Project Team to develop required schedules and budgets for project execution.
- Analyze and implement the most suitable project management system using the appropriate technology to always monitor the progress of the project.
- Carry out risk assessment in collaboration with the relevant officers.
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct periodic inspection of construction sites and ensure project documents are complete.
- Secure and schedule internal and external resources required to deliver project activities.
- Perform other project engineering and project management related duties.
- Initiate cost and schedule updates from all project team members for accurate project forecasts.
- Provide the necessary validation of Design Team produced schedules to ensure the development of proper estimates and studies within a project stage.
- Generate comprehensive monthly updates on all projects for cost and schedule reporting.
- Determine project critical path to effectively optimize activities and resources and advise Project Team of impact of project changes on the cost and schedule baseline.
- Managing the company’s quality system and coordinating audits to evaluate compliance
- Preparing cost and schedule variance analysis/curves for tracking and project update purposes.
- Estimating project cash flows/curves based on tender and construction programmes to determine the funding requirements of the project.
- Preparing/compiling technical tenders and other necessary support and documentations needed for tender presentation(s).
- Creating project risk registers at the tender stage and ensuring it is kept ‘live’ throughout the duration of the project
- Preparing detailed programme and schedule for projects and presenting same in MS Project and Primavera views.
- Projecting and planning needed resources - plant, labour, material, etc. - needed for estimating project value for tender and construction purposes.
- Interacting with client manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and vendors to collect and collate information for schedule preparation and for status update purposes to guide the team and customer
- Ensure compliance with approved control plans for projects.
- Maintain expenditure forecasts consistent with project team plans and monitor progress against forecasts.
- Provide input into the annual plans and budgets (P&B), and JV budget submissions for the project.
- In collaboration with the project managers and finance teams, develop an annual budget in line with the organizations plan.
- Provide periodic financial reports on expenditure, to be reviewed by the Business Head.
- Oversee the finances of the project management teams; ensure the smooth flow of the requisition and retirements
- Prepare estimates and documents required to obtain permits, approvals for bids, sales etc.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the various project management teams.
- Network and maintain relationship with the relevant Government Agencies - Urban and Regional Planning, Infrastructural Development, etc.
- Build and manage relationships with other relevant stakeholders including community leaders, landowners etc.
- Promote a harmonious relationship between the architects, engineers and contractors to ensure the best outcome for the business
- Commercial Support
- Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment procurement; ensuring vendors provide timely and quality input into design and build packages.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- M.Sc in Construction Management
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with Project and Cost management, experience in the Construction Industry is an advantage
- Professional Experience in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Contract & Commercial Management Practitioner (CCMP).
Salary
N750,000 - N800,000 Monthly.
