Job Description

  • Our client seeks to engage the services of head of audit who will be responsible for audit and internal control of the finance, retail and warehouse operations of the business to ensure compliance to policies, cost control and risk reduction.
  • This position requires a critical thinker with a keen interest in improving an organization’s internal control structure. The Head of Audit will work closely with the audit, retail outlet and warehouse teams to ensure that inventory is properly accounted for, and that proper controls and reporting are in place to validate the existence of inventory and its proper valuation
  • The Head of Audit will be responsible for auditing retail and warehouse distribution centers to validate their cycle count programmes and compliance to procedures and best practices. The candidate will also be a part of the lead role to organize any year-end physical inventory counts performed by the company and any third-party personnel. This position will track and report to ensure adherence to policies related to inventory and retail integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Audit team to audit inventory cycle counts at retail and distribution center locations.
  • Identify and assess areas of significant risk in inventory management.
  • Implement best audit and business practices in line with applicable internal audit statements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit policies and procedures.
  • Review internal control procedures, test adherence, and make suggestions for improvements to controls.
  • Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks.
  • Verification of perpetual inventory quantities through auditing.
  • Audit systems, processes, and reporting used by retail operations.
  • Develop and deliver accurate and timely recommendations and reporting to reduce errors in inventory accuracy and retail operations.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or High Diploma in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
  • Must have minimum of three (3) years experience in retail audit.
  • Must be proficient with computer, audit and accounting softwares including having solid excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
  • Must be initiative-taking individual and collaborator.
  • Must not be less than thirty-five(35) years of age.
