Job Title: Senior Associate - Corporate Commercial

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • Providing legal advice to clients on corporate and commercial related matters. Vetting research and advisory done by associates within the team
  • Drafting and reviewing transaction documents ranging from corporate financing to M&A documents and due diligence reports.
  • Co-ordinating due diligence exercises and review the reports. Generating issues list from review of transaction documents.
  • Ensuring the team practice and procedures are adhered to by team members. Ensuring even work distribution and workflow and training needs.
  • Attending client meetings and responding to client queries.

Skills, Competencies and Knowledge Required for the Position

  • LLB from an accredited university and B.L from Nigeran Law School
  • Membership of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (added advantage).
  • Masters of Laws (LLM) (added advantage)
  • 7-9 years post call experience from a law firm, corporate legal department or investment bank/firm
  • Practical knowledge of corporate law and Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity and corporate finance
  • Ability to provide sound and well-researched advice
  • Must possess excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and organizational skills with a positive attitude to work
  • Excellent drafting and document review skills
  • Ability to interact at various levels and develop strong client relationships
