HR Vault (Consulting) - Our client, a newly established Water Park located in the heart of Abuja, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Life Guard

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

• We currently require the services of a Life Guard to explain and enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, rescue people in danger, and use their knowledge of first aid to save lives.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-opening and closing checks set by the Operations Manager/Supervisor.
• Adhere to all operating procedures as outlined in the waterpark standard operating procedures. This includes, but is not limited to: completing safety checklists, monitoring water activities, immediately addressing any safety concerns and/or stopping operation, if necessary.
• Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the water. Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
• Communicate and enforcing pool rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of guests.
• Ensures cleanliness of the pools and environs.
• Maintain order in pools and rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger. There must be no dangerous objects in/around the pool.
• Provide emergency care/first aid procedures and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• All incidents in the water must be properly logged/documented and brought to the attention of the Manager. Notify the security team in cases of suspicious activity.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude always; and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Performs other tasks as directed by the manager.

Person Specification

• OND qualification with 1 - 3 years work experience.
• Must have a cheerful disposition.
• Proficient in interacting with people of various ages from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Excellent self-hygiene and grooming.
• Physically fit, strong, agile, and dexterous.

Physical Demands / Job Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time throughout the day.
• Must be able to work outdoors at various times throughout the year.
• Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
• Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
• Requires working on weekends and public holidays.
• Requires occasional lifts and carrying.
