Job Title: Chef
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Overview
- Responsible for planning, preparing, cooking and ensuring the cleanliness of all dishes to be served to customers.
- Ensures that all the dishes served are created with only the freshest ingredients so that the quality is in line with the restaurant’s standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that every and all the ingredients within the kitchen are of high quality, clean and are prepared in line with the restaurant’s procedures and recipes.
- This includes all meat, poultry, seafoods, vegetables, fruits, etc.
Functional Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating adequate meal portions, meal preparation and assisting with creating a safe and sanitary kitchen working environment.
- Plans and establish, in conjunction with the Kitchen Supervisor, the various stations within the kitchen work area where the meals will be prepared and made with necessary stocks and supplies.
- Planning and preparing various key components of each dish by referring to and executing the tried and tested recipes with perfection and finesse.
- Cooking and serving dishes alongside other kitchen staff
- Ensure that the kitchen is always well kept, well stocked and well cleaned.
- Ensure that the ingredients that are in stock are fresh, are of the highest quality and are kept in the appropriate containers and at the right temperature to maintain their freshness and quality
Requirements
- First Degree in Food Science / Food Technology, Culinary Arts, Hotel Management or any related courses
- Catering Training School Certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ working experience as a Chef
- Experience in menu items pricing and menu design
- In-depth knowledge of developing cooking techniques.
