We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Account Receivables, Account Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Prepare and submit timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close out process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Ensure regular inventory count
• Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Education and Experience

• Accounting Degree or equivalent
• Minimum of four years’ experience required
• ACCA/ACA certification
• Between the ages of 30 – 40 years
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Practices and Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
• Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications

Key Competencies:

• Proven working experience as an Accountant
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Excellent accounting software use and administration skills.
