The Akoko Edo Community Newspaper project is targetted at providing a platform for multi-faceted interaction between inhabitants of the area as well as amongst them and others in the diaspora. Additionally, it aims at facilitating communication between government and all segments of the society.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: News Reporter
Location: Akoko, Edo
Employment Type: Internship
The Role
- We are looking for students who desire hands-on experience for researching, collecting, and reporting news stories.
Duties
- You will be trained to collect, verify, fact-check and analyse newsworthy information.
- You will be trained to write engaging contents.
- You will be trained on SEO.
- You will be trained on journalism’s ethics and codes.
- You will create and deliver daily news stories to the editor.
- You will interview and research news sources.
- You will attend events and file reports promptly.
- You will take up assignments from the editor and IT specialist.
Requirements
- Must have a smartphone.
- Excellent communication and news story-telling skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be living in Akoko-Edo.
Remuneration
Stipend for data subscription.
