Job Title: Account Manager

Location: Ashipa Village, Abeokuta, Ogun

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily administration of financial and accounting practices of the business.
• Perform accounting duties as directed including budgeting and costing control.
• Responsible for costing and pricing of stock items, including in-progress and finished products.
• Assist management in preparing documentation for budgeting and financial reporting procedures.
• Develop accounting and financial management systems and reports.
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Requirements

• B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or relevant courses.
• Relevant certification (e.g. ICAN) will be preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager, chief or Senior accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Awareness of business trends.
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks, Sage and QuickBooks.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
