Job Title: Head Engineering (Software)

Overall Description

• Lead the team of developers and engineering manager towards establishing and maintaining
• standards and regimens of all Pivo Africa products. Oversee the development of a technical and
• product roadmap according to user features and technical requirements. The CTO will ensure
• all our products are stable and innovative, further ensuring product and business goals move
• hand in hand. The CTO also functions as an Engineering Manager and plans, coordinates, and
• oversees the technical and engineering activities of the company. They are responsible for
• planning engineering projects and overseeing the efficient running of projects, including
• providing supervision and guidance to other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that the product vision of the company is realized through excellent and timely execution.
• Develop technical strategy and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to drive innovation from a technical standpoint.
• Work closely with founders and management team to lead engineering planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives, timetables, implementation, and deployment of product.
• Maintain and build a high-performance engineering culture.
• Own the development methodology. Align with the executive team to improve the development process, prioritize feature requests, and manage multiple workstreams.
• Lead a team of Software Developers, Server Engineers and QA Engineers, towards establishing quality development practices and standards
• Build and retain world-class engineers through strong recruitment, mentoring, and career management.
• Grow our engineering team and maintain the right tech culture throughout.
• Be accountable for the delivery of product feature requests within schedules and timelines.
• Responsible for the product engineering road map, quality assurance and stability of the products.
• Manage team budgets and reporting metrics. CTO must learn to be lean and crafty with limited resources
• Perform well in uncertainties and collaborate and work with unclear interfaces to other teams in our fast-paced environment. Adsorb uncertainty and provide certainty.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND qualification
• 15+ years of experience. Have worked in high scale products. Start-up experience strongly preferred
