Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Python / Django)

Job Description
- We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Python/Django) to join our growing team of engineers and contribute towards scaling the platform.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring application stability, directly working with the CTO, tech lead & development teams to ensure platform efficiency, and performance, in addition to contributing to the development of minor and major features.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, schemas, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
- Develop high-quality software design and architecture
- Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Review and debug code
- Perform validation and verification testing
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
- Document development phases and monitor systems
- Planning for business continuity & disaster recovery
- Identifying, designing and implementing proactive patterns that prevent system problems
Required Experience and Personal Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years
- Must be able to work remotely and have the tools to do so (stable laptop, fast internet, etc.)
- Excellent technical, analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage expectations
- Be able to clearly explain issues to others
- Be able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Recognizes the power in saying ‘I don’t know'.
Required Programming & Technical Skills:
- Excellent in Python & Django
- PostgreSQL
- Front-end development (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap 4, JS & JQuery).
- ReactJS.
- Git using the gitflow workflow.
- Linux/Unix.
- Nginx.
- DevOps experience with Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, and AWS is a plus.
