Job Title: Business Development Consultant for West Africa

Location: Lagos
Job Type: Permanent
Job Availability: Immediately
Travel: Extensively in West Africa
Reporting to: Managing Director
Sectors: Sales and distribution of optical and/or medical device

Job Purpose

  • Our client requires a Business Development Consultant for West Africa to promotes the company’s sales and service sales of the relevant product group(s) nationally and internationally, in order to achieve defined targets and company strategic goals in West Africa.

Job Description

  • As a Business Development Consultant, you are primarily accountable for to promoting the company’s sales and service sales of the relevant product group(s) nationally and internationally, in order to achieve defined targets and company strategic goals in West Africa.

Key or Core Activities of Job

  • Developing growth strategies and plans for Sub Sahara in cooperation with the Profit Center.
  • Managers and Regional Partners (Distributors).
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing Distributors and Customers
  • Responsible for Market analysis and intelligence.
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition
  • Researching business opportunities in Region.
  • Managing Key opinion Leaders in Region.
  • Following industry trends in the Region.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts.
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
  • Following up new business opportunities.
  • Identify funding agencies and opportunities as well as the grant requirements in different countries.
  • Planning and preparing presentations.
  • Overseeing the development of market reports.
  • Providing management with feedback.

Job Requirements

  • Qualification: B.Sc and preferred a Master’s Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Experience: More than 5 years experience in the medical sector and a minimum of 1+ years in a successful business to business sales environment, preferably in, optical or medical device

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to be proficient with standard MS Office applications, company technology devices (Laptop, iPhone, etc.) for territory management and product orders, Salesforce.com preferably, providing detailed and accurate sales forecasts using the company's CRM tool

Ability / Skills / Characteristics:

  • Driver’s Licence: Compulsory
    Good command of English language (written and oral)

  • Citizen or Permanent Resident, preferably from Nigeria or Ghana who understands and embraces West African Business Practices and Culture
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Preferably fluent in French and one of the official languages of West Africa
  • Work experience with an international company.
  • Ability to work independently.

Salary Structure

  • Market Related, depending on experience level
