BBC is licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) as a Metropolitan Fiber Optic Network Operator,  Private Network Links Operator (PNL), International Data Access Gateway Operator (IDA), Value Added Services Operator  and Internet Service Provider (ISP).

BBC is a Last Mile Carrier Grade Operator of Fiber Optic Network connectivity for Telecom Operators, ISPs and Corporate clients. BBC provides Metro Fiber Local Loop with coverage of all Major Business Districts in Lagos, Kano, Akwa Ibom, Rivers State, Enugu State and Abuja.  BBC is the first and only operator in Nigeria to deliver an all Packet Transmission Network (PTN) and an OPEN ACCESS Metro Fiber Network Solution. We are the first in Nigeria to deploy a NO-DIG solution with Horizontal Directional Drilling Equipment (HDD) for the installation of our Fiber Optic Cable facilities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality Control OSP

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Must have an advanced level of outside plant design knowledge and be capable of designing OSP work prints.
  • QC Engineer will be responsible for quality control of fibre placement work prints designed by the Engineering team, primarily doing a cost analysis on the designs to ensure the best route for labor and materials based on cost efficiency.
  • Must be familiar with various outside plant engineering concepts such as copper and fibre optic cable.
  • Previous OSP experience with Aerial plant design and identifying the necessary requirements in order to successfully attach fibre to a telephone pole is required.
  • Must have knowledge of telephone industry standards, interpreting mechanized assignment records, PC applications, OSP drafting systems and able to interact with all network systems.
  • Must be able to utilize facility analysis process to analyse work order drawings and update work order records in an accurate and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • HND / BSc in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in telecommunication OSP
  • Extensive knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems
