We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of generator enclosures, electrical panels, diesel and water tanks, battery cabinets, pressure vessels and storage racks using Autodesk inventor, solid works or solid edge.
  • Responsible for the specification compliance of designs.
  • Responsible for mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolence, availability and cost.
  • Ensures design files and information are kept up to date, and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Keep up tp date with the latest manufacturing techniques and drawing standards.
  • Responsible for identifying mechanical part numbers in accordance with the material finishes.
  • Responsible for generation of Assembly drawings and bills of materials.
  • Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for reporting progress of all assigned tasks to the Engineering Manager and Project management teams.
  • Should be available for onsite customer support (presentation and fault finding) as required.
  • Take technical lead on specific projects and agree technical approach with the Engineering manager.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar course from a reputable tetiary insitution.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in similar role.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Srong problem solving and detail-oriented skills.
