We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Overview

  • Responsible for planning and carrying out all lifting operations and inspection of lifting tackles to ensure strict compliance with safe working load.
  • Ensure prompt completion and good quality of the execution of lifting jobs.

Responsibilities
Safety:

  • Complies with all Company and safety policies, rules and regulations, standard operating procedures

Other Activities:

  • Check the condition of the mobile equipment every morning and report the result to shift engineer and MPD Engineer (daily check list).
  • Carries out and supervises all the lifting operations
  • Know the safe working load of the steel wire rope of each crane and all the lifting slings to be used.
  • Check for defects of lifting slings /ropes/eyes, etc before any lifting and report to immediate superior.
  • Drive and operate mobile equipment in the department when required
  • Maintain the mobile crane and forklift in a clean condition.
  • Observe all safety regulations, in relation to crane operation at all times.
  • Lifting operation to be supervised by a competent Rigger.
  • Lifting zone/ area should be barricaded to prevent people access/egress.
  • Responsible for scheduled inspection of lifting tools and tackles (including slings wire and shackles) and ensuring that these are in optimal condition of safe use.
  • Establishes safety and work performance standards for subordinates.
  • Ensure safe storage and disposal of lifting tackles.
  • Performs related work as required.

Education / Qualifications

  • Trade Test II or SSCE qualification.
  • Any other certification from an organization(s) on crane operational training (awards may be an additional advantage).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in crane operations.
  • Experience in multi-national companies is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:
Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Ability to read and write in English,
  • Basic experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of cranes
  • Ability to operate cranes from 20tons to 150 tons capacity

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure, in a demanding environment, while maintaining the highest professional standards.
  • Ability to self-organize, prioritize tasks, take initiatives, and make recommendations while engaging with Senior Leaders.

Leadership and Managerial Abilities:

  • Build informal networks across functions to ensure smooth flow inputs for own deliverables.
  • Top presentation skills to be able to convey clear and synthetic messages (verbally or on paper).

Language Requirements:

  • Professional Proficiency in English Language.
