Job Purpose

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and warehousing of pharmaceutical, laboratory and other healthcare commodities and equipment under ideal conditions and ambient temperatures.
  • Distribution of such commodities and equipment to Supported sites. Updating Bin cards in the Store.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains a database of inventory within the assigned Stores/area of the Warehouse.
  • Inputs data as necessary to monitor goods receipts, issuance and stock reorder levels; monitors back orders, handles returned goods and inventory shortages.
  • Prepares periodic detailed stock records and reports
  • Raises requisitions for items not typically kept in the stores
  • Maintains pharmaceutical, laboratory and other healthcare commodities and equipment under ideal conditions and ambient temperatures
  • Distributes commodities and equipment to supported sites

Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent in Stores Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related area.
  • 2 years’ experience in Stores Management with at least 1 years of NGO experience in a similar position, basic modern storeroom and inventory practices; modern warehouse methods preferably in an HIV/AIDS program in a CDC/USAID funded project.
  • At least one years’ Understanding of safety precautions, and procedures used in the receipt, storage, and distribution of merchandise
  • Proficiency in MS Access and Excel use
  • Ability to work as a team worker and demonstrably cooperative with members of other teams, responding quickly and accurately to queries and issues
  • A high level of self-awareness, personal energy, stamina and flexibility.
  • Ability to work creatively, effectively and under own initiative
