Background

  • The Feed the Future Nigeria Rural Resilience Activity (RRA) is a 5-year USAID funded program being implemented by a consortium led by Mercy Corps with support from IFDC and Save the Children across the states of Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, and Yobe in Northeast Nigeria. The Rural Resilience Activity seeks to facilitate economic recovery and growth in vulnerable, conflict-affected areas by promoting systemic change in market systems. This will ensure long-term improvements to markets that will sustainably move over 600,000 individuals out of chronic poverty.
  • The Rural Resilience Activity, through Mercy Corps Nigeria, entered into a one-year partnership with Golden Agri Inputs Limited (GAIL) in September 2021 to increase access to high-grade agricultural inputs and high-value markets. The partnership targeted 3,000 maize farmers (including women and youth) in Adamawa and Gombe states. The project achieved massive impacts on farmers' livelihoods with $21.2 million in sales of grains and fertilizer. This documentary is aimed at documenting and showcasing the impacts of the partnership between the two organizations.
