Job Title: Professor, Computer Science

What You’ll Do
- We are hiring a Professor of Computer Science to focus on teaching and curriculum development. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, teaching faculty position with no requirements of research.
- This is Kibo’s first CS professor hire, and will be a core member of our academic team who will partner with Keno (CAO) and Rob (CS Curriculum) to define and execute on Kibo’s academic vision.

- Excited to innovate for quality at scale: our ambition is to radically expand access to high-quality education, and we want to build curricula, tools, and experiences that enable educators to reach many more students. We strive to be elite without being elitist. Our goal is to build online learning that is accessible to as many learners as possible while maintaining a high bar for quality.
- A learning engineer and life-long learner: you have strong pedagogical views, but you’re also adaptable and using new information/research to evolve your practices
- Effective collaborator: you’re eager to build with other instructors. Faculty at Kibo teach from common curricula and contribute to shared knowledge to help us scale our reach and quality
- Committed to cultural empathy: we want to take best-practices from wherever we find them, but also understand that cultural context is important in learning design
- Outcomes focused: you have evidence of teaching effectiveness, and a track record of using data to improve instruction
- Excellent written communicator: As a remote-first, globally distributed startup, we spend a lot of time communicating in writing and documenting our processes. Clear, structured, and well-organized writing is a must
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related area
- Experience in online teaching
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in 3 or more of the following: Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Databases, Programming Languages, Networks/Systems, Software Engineering, Visualization, User Interfaces, Data Science.
