AAO-Tasalach Limited - Our client is a medium-sized law firm that provides comprehensive legal services to corporate bodies on general commercial matters and complex commercial transactions.
They are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Corporate / Commercial Lawyer
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Advising internal clients and liaising with other third parties in the giving of commercial advice and the drafting of commercial documents
- Advising clients of the legal and business implications of proposed transactions, anticipating legal and contractual concerns and devising strategies to resolve them.
- Representing clients in courts and during legal proceedings
- Negotiating contract terms and license agreements on behalf of clients
- Develop expertise in relevant legal regimes, including data privacy laws and industry standards and intellectual property, in order to facilitate regulatory and internal compliance.
- Examining and advising on business mergers
- Helping gather and prepare legal documents
- Advising clients on legal consequences and litigation process
- Writing and editing commercial reports.
Requirements
- Must have an LL.B Degree and have minimum of 5 years post-call experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience of using up to date and authoritative legal knowledge to support delivery of a complex operation/function/service.
- Strong work ethic and professional attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, on law and practice, with various stakeholders.
- Must have worked in the commercial department of a top commercial law firm.
