CcHUB is Nigeria’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space being designed to be a multi-functional, multi-purpose space where work to catalyze creative social tech ventures take place. The HUB is a place for technologists, social entrepreneurs, government, tech companies, impact investors and hackers in and around Lagos to co-create new solutions to the many social problems in Nigeria.

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced Back-end engineer who will design, implement, and iterate on scalable, secure, backend services.
• From design, implementation, and deployment you'll be able to shape the services and features that drive the future of our products. We are looking for a skilled, dependable, innovator who plays well with others and enjoys finding scalable solutions.
• In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and support our other members of the engineering team who work cross-functionally with product and design to share and learn best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build simple, fast, resilient, and scalable solutions using back-end (and/or front-end) technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, and/or launch our product line.
• Develop features and functions that ultimately improve the experience of users.
• Maintain and expand reporting/analytics capabilities.
• Vet and test new backend code, as well as fixes.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders daily, in real time.
• Open and able to give + receive positive + constructive feedback.
• Learn from different team members about the various systems and projects they work on.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or more in Computer Science or related field
• 2-5 years of recent hands-on coding and software design
• A tract record of projects completed on time- you are a flawless executor, not a procrastinator.
• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle, best practices and Agile software development.
• A strong familiarity of programming languages including JavaScript, Node.js
• Experience working with any PHP framework.
• Experience working with Docker would be a plus.
• Experience or aptitude for implementing scalable software.
• Experience working on collaborative projects is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid knowledge of database structures and algorithms
• Optimistic about-facing challenges and converting to success/milestones.
