Ignatius Ajuru University of Education was established by the University of Education Law No. 8 of 2009 of the Rivers State Government passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly on 15 October 2009 and assented to by His Excellency, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, the Executive Governor of Rivers State on 20 October 2009.

Job Title: Deputy Bursar

Qualification
- The Deputy Bursar shall have a good honours first degree from a recognized University and a Fellow or Member of any of the following accounting bodies:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, or of England and Wales, Ireland or Scotland.
- The Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants.
- The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants.
- The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of America.
- Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.
- Or any recognized professional qualification equivalent to any of the foregoing.
- The Deputy Bursar shall in addition to the foregoing have not less than ten (10) years post qualification experience, four(4) of which must have been served ma senior financial management position.
- Experience in a higher educational institution shall be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and experience with accounting packages in computer will be required.
Remuneration
Salary Scale: CONUAS 14
Condition of Service
The conditions of service are the same, as those of similar Universities within the Rivers State Public Service. Please note that inline with the provision of the University Law, Principal Officers positions are of a period of five years and may be extended for another term of five years upon satisfactory performance.
