It's customers include hotels, eateries, fast food, pop-shop resellers, and individual bulk buyers. At the heart of Afobec is a grassroots movement for empowerment to better the health and life of people in society.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Ubahadara, Nempi, Oru West LGA - Imo
Employment Type: Full-time (In person)
Employer Industry: Production and Manufacturing
Working Week: Monday to Saturday: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Reporting to: Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring water quality compliance during operations and maintenance activities as well as ensuring water production activities are carried out in such a way as to meet customer needs.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize production schedules promptly
  • Manage and evaluate the entire production process
  • Take stock of materials needed for production and ensure timely restocking of necessary materials
  • Lead and monitor quality assessments to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Carry out routine production equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Take customer feedback about products and work together with the team to reflect changes.
  • Supervise and oversee the work input and output of employees in the production unit. (machine operator, loaders, and baggers)
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
  • Liaise with the front desk officer to purchase and replenish materials needed for production.
  • Ensure production quality control standards are adhered to in line with local and international best practices
  • Prepare timely reports for material usage and submitted them to the administrative officer

Requirements
Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of BS.c or BA in Engineering or its equivalent
  • 4 - 5 years of proven experience as a Production manager, supervisor, or officer in a reputable manufacturing company. (Sachet and bottled water manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Relevant certification is strongly preferred

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of operational methods and practices of water treatment, storage, and water distribution.
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards and/or unsafe conditions and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Ability to plan, assign and coordinate a comprehensive water quality control and monitoring program.
  • Proficient use of MS Office Software and equipment.

  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and carry out effective stakeholder engagement (regulatory authorities, customers, host communities, etc)
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and the general public.
  • High sense of urgency, show visible and felt leadership, and safety champion.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and seamless adaptation to change.

We expect that for this role, there should be:

  • Smooth production operations to meet production targets and satisfy customers' needs.

Working Condition

  • The essential duties of this role are primarily performed in an office environment and factory with potential exposure to loud noise, and hazardous chemicals, and require the ability to: sit for extended periods in front of a computer screen; use a telephone and computer keyboard daily, speak to verbally exchange ideas and information; hear to receive verbal detailed information; intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding work area.
