We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Administrator

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and approval of safety plans.
  • Continuous inspection of project sites to ensure a hazard-free environment.
  • Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality
  • Promoting safe practices on site.
  • Creating and enforcing safety guidelines and programs.
  • Carrying out drills and exercises on managing emergencies.
  • Conducting investigations on accidents.
  • Ability to come up and implement a robust and functional HSE management system.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting HSE audits, incident reports, reviews and inspections.
  • Ability to carry out a comprehensive HSE oriented reporting like HSE Statistic report, Risk assessment report, safety induction records, etc.
  • Skilled in the coordination of site HSE activities, personnel and serving as a reference point between the HSE manager and other HSE personnel.
  • Ability to track all actions in the HSE improvement plans.
  • Verifying that all safety reports are submitted to related government institutions.
  • Responding to workers’ safety concerns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of a health and safety plan.
  • Establishing and maintaining health and safety communication structures.
  • Continuous monitoring of all safety-related documents, reports and issues to keep them updated.
  • Conduct daily environmental and safety audits.
  • Inspect and examine all health and safety-related complaints, workplace accidents, outbreaks of diseases, the spill of hazardous toxins/poison.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Health, Safety, or Environmental field of study.
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in health and safety.
  • Assess risks and offer advice to reduce potential hazards.
  • HSE Qualifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate or its equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and procedures (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
  • Should possess ISPON (Institute of Safety Professionals Of Nigeria) Levels 1 and 3.
  • Ability to manage and train other HSE members.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Leadership skills.
