Responsibilities
- Ensure all personnel have a safe working environment and follow the agreed upon safety standards and procedures
- Ensure all contractors are managing project work efficiently and with acceptable quality
- Promote proactive recognition of good ideas, performance, and attitude
- Attend or conduct daily safety tool box meetings
- Participate in daily start of shift and work planning meetings
- Report all safety incidents/near misses to the project Safety Lead and EPC contractor management
- Conduct daily safety field observations and interventions
- Attend project engineering status meetings, as requested
- Participate in project constructability reviews
- Review Construction Execution Plans
- Receive and review construction estimates/schedules, as required
- Participate in construction kick-off meetings
- Attend daily look ahead construction meetings
- Attend weekly 3 week look ahead meetings
- Review EPC contractor project schedule work plans
- Ensure that EPC contractors work planning is complete, mentor and coach as required
- Perform weekly project field walks with the Construction Manager
- Interface with operations (clearing of lines and equipment) so EPC contractors are not delayed
- Issue work permits for offsite non process areas, as required
- Interface with testing of soils for disposal, as required
- Interface with delivery and pickup of trash, concrete, soil, and metal dumpsters, as required
- Schedule and coordinate road closures with plant superintendent and security, as required
- Inspect and sign off hot tap equipment prior to drilling, as required
- Participate in Pre Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs)
Qualification and Experience
- Must have 10 years field construction experience
- Must have downstream experience.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English language.
