Job Title: General Manager

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the work of employees for our client in the FMCG industry. You will manage the manufacturing, supply chain and distribution of company’s products across the country.
  • The ideal candidate will be well versed in all matters as regards to manufacturing and distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision by assisting the board and staff with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on strategies
  • Set and achieve key performance targets for sales, delivery, cost, expenses and other measurements of operational performance.
  • Communicate operational/sales results, activities, etc. to executive management and provide recommendations and plans for ongoing improvement.
  • Monitor industry legislative developments, develop and implement strategic changes in order to maintain compliance and maximize business performance.
  • Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with key stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, community organizations, regulatory bodies etc.
  • The GM will ensure a smooth flow of high-quality product import, delivered efficiently within a set budget, across geographical multi-sites as the case may be.
  • Other duties as shall be required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management or a Master's in Business Administration.
  • Experience Length: 7 years.
  • Proven experience as a general manager with a background in manufacturing and distribution or logistics, with a flair for innovation and ingenuity, process efficiency and new business development.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent business acumen and financial skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to understand market and business intelligence to make informed choices about business development.
  • Competent in pro-active measures whilst concurrently capable to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and implement recommendations for resolution.
